Equine Meeting - early to mid November 2009
This is an advance notice of our proposed 2009 Equine Client Meeting. It is hoped that this meeting will be held in early to mid November. The date and venue are yet to be confirmed but we hope to once again use Ivybridge Rugby Club which was a great success last time.
The proposed topics to be covered are “Equine Gastric Ulceration Syndrome” and “Feed Supplements – Who Decides?”
Equine Gastric Ulceration Syndrome (EGUS) is a hot issue at present as the incidence of this syndrome and its significance both for competition and leisure horses has hitherto been underestimated. We hope to have a well known expert in the field to give us up-to-date information on this topic.
The second talk will hopefully shed light on the need for dietary supplements and to clarify who should be providing advice in this area. Much money is wasted needlessly on additives which are neither necessary nor appropriate. Many supplements are bought off the shelf on anecdotal advice from the person with the next door stable or the yard “expert”.
We are keen to create a culture in which we can offer advice to clients and enable them to provide the best support for their animals and achieve value for money.
We propose to provide refreshments and will be organising a mail shot for all equine clients when all details are finalised.
