I am currently in my fourth and final year of my Veterinary Nursing degree at The Royal Veterinary College, London and Middlesex University, I have completed all aspects of my university degree and I am just awaiting my exam rsults and then hopefully attending my graduation ceremony in July. After completing an enjoyable years work placement at Gabriel, Grills and Associates, I was very happy to be offered a full time Veterinary Nurse position. I really enjoy all aspects of working in a busy veterinary practice, especially the day to day variety of cases. You can never predict how each day will go and the variety of cases that the Veterinary Staff come into contact with is infinite! I really enjoy assisting all the vets with surgical procedures and I find the orthopaedic procedures particularly interesting! I also enjoy all the exotic cases and especially coming into contact with all the Gables dogs and cats! I enjoy helping to run nurse clinics, which provide a way for Veterinary Nurses to provide essential advice to clients regarding general husbandary of their pet and post operative care, enabling them to make a complete recovery back to full health. Sophie Baser and myself will be running puppy parties for any puppy after they have been fully vaccinated. The puppy parties will aim to enable the puppies to socialise, learn basic training commands and provide advice to clients on the health of their puppy, ensuring worming and flea treatment is up to date and that the puppies weight is correct for their breed and age. We will also provide neutering and nutrional advice for your puppy. Puppies will leave with a party bag and a certificate of completion! In my spare time when I'm not at the vets cuddling puppies and kittens, I enjoy anything that involves being outside or on water, I enjoy rowing on the river Dart, playing hockey, spending time with friends and family and going for walks on the beaches and moors with my cocker spaniel, Buster! I also have a number of other animals...including a new tortoise and I am hoping to increase my menagerie of animals once I graduate! |
