Steve Grills Biography

Steve performing exploratory surgery

I qualified in 1989 from Cambridge University and then worked in a mixed practice in Banbury for 2 years, here I was mainly doing small animal work. I then moved to a 5-person practice in Abingdon for a further 10 years. My main caseload here was small animal surgery and cattle fertility work.  After being away from Devon for so long, and having a young family who weren't seeing Grandparents as often as they should, we decided to return to Devon in 2001 and managed to move back whilst all the chaos of the foot and mouth outbreaks was occurring. I am now responsible for overseeing the small animal side of the practice, particularly interested in soft tissue surgery, oncology and treating exotic species, particularly reptiles. I have also maintained my interest in farm animal medicine and perform most of the farm animal work within the practice. Leisure time is primarily spent with my family on the beach or in the countryside with occasional forays onto the golf course.
